Calvinist are not Christians?

Dr. James White addresses an accusation from a fan of Dave Hunt that Calvinist are not even Christians… and in his gracious and careful manner addresses six common questions concerning Calvinism that this seriously misinformed man ask.

I am reminded by this of the extreme danger of allowing works like Dave Hunt’s “What Love is This” to go unanswered. And why we must be ever ready to give a defense of “the faith once delivered to the saints”.

Apologetics can be wearing work and there are times when we all just want to throw up our hands and say how many times do we have to answer the same foolish questions… But the enemy does not rest and therefore we must not abandon the defense of truth no mater how weary we may become.

This is an excellent video message from Dr. James White on the Reformed understanding of Salvation. Click (

I highly recommend it!

Brother Greg, I actually did fill a notebook-and-a-half with replies to Dave Hunt's book when I was 17---between the fits of laughter, that is. ^_^ Nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks the book is worth an answer.

This blog has been most enlightening. I had no idea things had gotten so bad. May the Lord allow justice to prevail.

Wow… a notebook-and-a-half on a theological topic at 17.

I’m not sure things have ‘gotten’ worse… only that the never ending battle for truth is now much more visible due to the internet which allows anyone to publish a response to those like David Hunt who before mostly went unanswered due to the cost of publishing.

Have you thought about digging that notebook-and-a-half of answers to David Hunt out of the storage box and posting it online? Just a thought.

Well actually, I have thought about releasing the notes in some form, but they're not refined enough just yet. Maybe someday---probably sooner than later, given the circumstances. The Lord will let me know when the time is right.

Anyway, 2009 is the 500th anniversary of John Calvin's life and work. This is going to be a fun year. :)

Yes, this is the 500th anniversary of John Calvin's life and work… So along with my daily Bible reading, I plan on reading the Institutes through this year.

I should indeed be an interesting year.

We must be prepared to give a defense for the hope within us. We can only pray the Lord will open people's eyes to the truth of His Word.

Deo Vindice.
