What a disaster for the Services and the witness of Christ in our Military.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09315967884033580328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23708015.post-48548178691970390152010-12-21T09:46:33.235-08:002010-12-21T09:46:33.235-08:00I didn't hear the Commandant's comments on...I didn't hear the Commandant's comments on the airways, but I am sure that it's in response to being chastised by the administration because he was the ONLY head of the 4 Armed Services to vocally and repeatedly oppose gays openly serving. Even as late as mid December he said a repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell would cost life and limb in the field because his Marines survive off of unit cohesion and gays openly serving provides a distraction that none of them should have to deal with. His Marine Commandant predecessor also vocally opposed the repeal. Sad to think they had to stand alone but good for them that they did until the end and that his men know his true personal opinion on the matter.
